Peter Gabriel Information

Peter Gabriel is my favorite singer.  He's also one of my favorite human beings.  He's played a huge part in my life, even though the vast majority of it has been indirectly.

Since seeing a Peter Gabriel concert is so expensive, he's basically been the only music performer I've been able to go see live.  Worth.  Every.  Penny.

Here are some basic facts about Peter:

His middle name is Brian.
No, I don't know why.

He's 5' 10"
Now, I don't know if he's shrunk any in the last few years, but this is his official height.

His birthday is 13 February 1950
Some sources list is as 13 May 1950 but these are wrong.

He was the first lead singer of Genesis and has no plans about rejoining Genesis
Peter co-founded the prog group Genesis with his friend and classmate Tony Banks.  Peter stayed in the group from 1967 to 1975.  Except for one benefit concert in 1982, the band has never performed together again.  Peter helped hire Phil Collins as their replacement drummer.  Phil would reluctantly take over the lead singer role when Peter left the band.

His sister is NOT Kate Bush
There has been Internet rumors that Peter and Kate are siblings, but they are not related.  Peter and Kate most famously appeared together on Peter's song Don't Give Up.

He's married
Sorry, girls (and, in some cases, guys) Peter is no longer on the market.  His first marriage was to Jill Moore from 1971 to 1987.  His second and still current marriage is to an Irish woman named Maeve who is (I assure you) younger and prettier than you'll ever be.  They met in 1996 or so and tied the knot in 2002.

He has four kids and one grandchild
He had two daughters, Anna Marie and Melanie, with Jill.  He had two boys, Isaac and Luc with Maeve.  Melanie had a baby boy, Ira, in 2012.

No one knows when his next album is coming out
Christ, it's easier finding out what's at the bottom of the Marianas Trench than finding out when the next Peter Gabriel album will come out.

I have no idea if he has/had anything to do with Jeremy Brett or Sherlock Holmes
That's just my twisted mind at work.

If you came to this blog looking for more detailed PG info, you're not going to find much, besides my own twisted point of view.  You can find much more from these websites:
