I Give Up Writing

This song captures how useless it is for me to continue to write. I pour my heart out and either I'm ignored or rejected. I'm 48, a wash-up and tired. So how appropriate that I found my feelings best expressed by someone else (The Magnetic Fields, From a Sinking Boat) than myself, since I apparently suck as a writer.

Don't give up writing!!! Just take a break from it to recharge. Go out to a theme park, see an animated film, go to a tearoom and wear a funny hat, visit Snowdonia, go to Mousehole, Canterbury, or Glastonbury and laugh at the Pay-guns you use to be (& I still am). Pee in a crop circle! Do whatever it takes to snap out of the doldrums. (& if you're in the States just do the American version of all of the above) DO IT NOW.

Hope that helps.

Take Care,
Shimmering

I hope that you finally change your mind !
If writing is something that makes you happy, don't give up.
Sure, EVERYBODY can't love your texts. But I'm sure there are some who do !
(I'm just discovering your blog so I haven't read yet your work. But I will :) )
And the most important thing is that YOU like what you do. No matter what you think that people thinks !
Have a nice day !

Thank you both for taking the time to write such encouraging words. Right now with my Mom's health being so poor, I don't have the time to write anymore, beyond some Amazon reviews or Goodreads book reviews. I don't know why I like writing book reviews so much -- I just do. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to writing --- someday.
